Election

The City’s next General Municipal Election will be held on November 2, 2010 for two City Council seats, currently held by Ed Monarch and Patrick Mullany. The regular nomination period will run from July 12, 2010 to August 6, 2010.

Since Ed Monarch,  an eligible incumbent, did not file by August 6, 2010, the filing period was extended to August 11, 2010.

Ballot Measure Q

On the November 2, 2010 ballot the following ballot measure has been submitted to the voters of the City of Indian Wells:

"Shall Ordinance Bill No. 2010-04 be adopted to provide that no person shall be eligible to serve in the office of City Council Member of the City after serving two (2) consecutive four-year terms, until after the next election date established by the Municipal Code for City Council Members (approximately two years) following his or her second term?"

Argument(s) for or against the above ballot measure must be filed with the City Clerk by close of business on August 16, 2010. Arguments shall not exceed 300 words and shall be accompanied by a Statement of Authors form, available from the City Clerk's office.
