Personnel/Employment

In addition to his responsibilities as personnel/risk director, Mel Windsor acts as public safety administrator by overseeing fire and community services offices and programs.

Duties performed by Windsor and his department include:

Personnel/Risk

  • Managing personnel recruitment and selection
  • Coordinating staff training
  • Managing the city's insurance programs
  • Overseeing the city's emergency preparedness program

Public Safety

  • Enforcing federal, state and local codes regarding public health and safety, zoning, land use, property preservation and public nuisances
  • Enforcing the sign ordinance
  • Investigating citizen complaints
  • Conducting property inspections and issuing compliance letters to correct infractions
  • FIre Inspection services
